This project work is written in order to know the influence of leadership style on sub-ordinate job effectiveness, a study of Camela Vegetable, Owerri. The study looked into the influence of leadership style in industries. Questionnaire was distributed to the entire management and staff of Camel Vegetable, Owerri. This project work was able to identify the various types of leadership style, its merit and demerit, situation where –they are applicable i.e. autocratic leadership style, democratic leadership and laissez faire leadership style. It also states the method which was employed in carrying out this research work, which include the following headings, the design of the study, the population, sample size and techniques, the administration of data collection instruments, test of validation and method of data analysis. The researcher has been able to proffer the following recommendations that; to select the most effective leadership style for a given situation emphasis should be laid on flexibility and sensitivity to the situation in which the leader and the group finds themselves and such situation should be analyzed as: force within the leader, forces in the followers, forces in the situation. Also the researcher, it was discovered that the equitable level of consulting subordinates in decision making leads to job effectiveness in the organization.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The importance of leadership in an organization cannot be over emphasized. Leadership is a major element that sets successful; and unsuccessful organization and government apart. It plays central role in offering direction and purpose towards achieving goals of the organization. It is also an important element in the social relationship of groups at work. Leadership is the main factor that determines and shapes group behavior when it is correctly applied; each employee enjoys a feeling of strong commitment towards achieving organizational goals. Regardless of equality of its members every group will tend to have a system in which it will have a leader. However, organizational goal can never be achieved without proper leadership style in lace. It is important to note that the effective performance of an individual employee is a function of both his personal characteristics and the individuals environment. A careful consideration of knowledge, skill experience, attitude and motivation of an employee enhance maximum productivity and efficiency in the job.
Leadership can simple be defined as a process of influencing the activities of an individual or group towards attainment of set goals. Leadership is the life wire of an organization. Douglas McGregor Theory X and Theory Y is to the view that leaders attitude towards human nature has a large influence on how it affects the employee under the leader. It is however, important to note that no single leadership style is likely to be effective in all circumstances, leadership style very based on surroundings and circumstances. However, instead of concentrating on single leadership style, leaders can vary their approaches depending on three factors; forces in the leader, forces in the subordinate and forces in the situation. An effective leader is measured by his ability to manage and withstand forces around him and how to effectively utilize human and material resources to attain organizational objectives. Douglas MC Cyrego put it dear that there is a close relationship between leader”s expectation and the resulting performance of subordinates. He further explains that if leader”s expectation are high, productivity is likely to be high.
1.1.1 PROFILE OF CAMELA VEGETABLE INDUSTRY
Camela Vegetable Oil Company Limited formerly known as R.O. Ikoro and Sons Limited was incorporated in June 1960 as a limited liability company dealing in agricultural produce and palm oil milling.
In 1985, the company expanded into palm kernel nut crushing for the extraction of palm kernel oil (PKO) and palm kernel cake (PKC). The next major expansion was in 1998 which was the installation of the vegetable oil refining for the processing of palm kernel oil (PKO) into vegetable oil and fatty acid. The vegetable oil was branded camela vegetable oil and fatty acid. The vegetable oil was branded camela vegetable oil and hence the new name of the company in August 2000 to Camela Vegetable Oil Co. Limited. The company having met all requirements of National Agency for Food, Drug and Administration and Alcohol Control (NAFDAC) and the standard organization of Nigeria (SON) having since being issued a NAFDAC number 01-2016L and a Mandatory Conformity Assessment Certificate Programme (MANCAP) number FT – 697. Cemela Vegetable Oil Co. Ltd in 2007 expanded into fish farming and fish feed production.
Presently it has an installed feed production capacity of 2 metric tons per day and utilize only 30% of it. The company has a 150mt per day vegetable oil refining plant.
